1. What the App does
Compress PDF (the “App”), by Cristian Andrei Romascu Radu, lets you scan documents and compress them to target sizes (e.g., 0.5/1/2/5 MB), then export PDFs for upload or sharing. It works offline and requires no account.
2. Data we process
On-device only
- Photos/Camera: used solely to scan or import images you select.
- Files access: used to read/write PDFs you choose.
Processing happens locally on your device. We do not upload your documents to our servers (we do not operate a cloud backend).
3. Advertising & identifiers
The App displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers (e.g., IDFA on iOS), approximate location, and usage data to deliver and measure ads.
In the EEA/UK, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for personalized or non-personalized ads. You can change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy → Manage Consent.
If you deny tracking (see ATT below) or choose non-personalized ads, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
4. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS, we may request permission to use the IDFA to reduce repetitive ads. Granting this is optional. The App works even if you choose Don’t Allow.
5. Diagnostics & analytics
- We do not collect behavioral analytics.
- We may receive aggregated crash reports from Apple if you opted into device analytics at system level.
- If an in-app diagnostics toggle is added, it will be off by default and collect only anonymized stability data.
6. Children
This App is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your country).
8. Data retention
Your documents and scans remain on your device until you delete them. Ad networks may retain ad-related logs per their policies.
9. Security
Processing is on-device. We rely on iOS sandboxing and platform safeguards. We do not store your files on remote servers.
10. Your choices & rights
- You can deny Photos/Camera permissions; scanning/import will be limited.
- You can choose non-personalized ads or withdraw consent via Settings → Privacy → Manage Consent.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- California (CPRA/CCPA): We do not sell personal information. For questions or rights requests, contact us.
11. International transfers
Ad networks (e.g., Google) may process data on servers outside your country (including the EU/UK). They use appropriate safeguards under applicable law.
